Global IRC - brainstorming of the Plekhanov University

Preparations for the Global IRC universities' contest are rushing at full sail. The goal is to fulfill the contest's major mission - to promote best practices in equity research and company analysis among the top Russian financial Universities. 

All eight student teams have already submitted their initial reports to mentors, and are working hard to get ready for the first contest, the Local Final, which is to be held in Moscow on February 8, 2011.

Last weekend, on December 18, 2010, CFA Association (Russia) hosted a meeting for Plekhanov Russian Economic University team members with their mentor, Egor Kazakov, CFA, Department of portfolio strategy, JSFC Sistema.

The meeting was held at the CFA Association's office, which was chosen by the participants as the ideal place for the meeting to carry on without a hitch.

During the 2-hour meeting. Egor Kazakov presented himself as an eye-opener, and conducted an intensive information session, which required substantial personal involvement and brainstorming efforts on behalf of the students. The session allowed the team to create a good roadmap for their work. According to the students, clear guidance and difficult questions by Egor Kazakov have clarified contest goals to the team.

No doubt that all participants benefited from the meeting. It is now time for more serious strategizing, to allow the team to finalize its winning report on time!
