Last month, CFA Association Russia launched a series of educational videos to inform the public about some of the projects in which the society was involved in. While the first video focused on the development of GIPS in Russia, the second video was dedicated to the details of the CFA Institute Research Challenge. It is also a great opportunity for future participants to find out and learn about the competition.

In one hour-long video, Alexey Debelov, CFA, a long-time Research Challenge volunteer, who served both as a team mentor and judge, talked about the details of the student competition. Alexey shares his own experience on how to form a successful team, work with industry mentors, prepare research and write a high-quality report. 

The video received positive response among students and their faculty advisers, who needed extra information and motivation for this year’s competition. Thanks to the explainer video, CFA Russia received the record amount of final reports this year – 26 out of 34 registered student teams submitted their work and are currently waiting for results.

CFA Russia hopes that with more videos like this the student competition will continue to evolve attracting more universities from all across Russia and the CIS. CFA Russia has one of the largest local challenges in the EMEA Region, four years in a row the society is able to send two teams to the EMEA finals. Last year was a particularly successful season for the society, as a team from Moscow State University representing CFA Russia became the EMEA champions.
