Every December CFA Association Russia holds a grand celebratory event to welcome new CFA charterholders who joined the local society of financial professionals.

In 2019, CFA Russia welcomed just over 100 new members. To officially celebrate this, CFA Russia held the 2019 Charter Award ceremony on December 17 at Moscow Exchange (MoEx).

Dmitry Ryabykh, President of CFA Association Russia, and CEO Vladimir Tutkevich opened the night with a welcome speech, highlighting everyone’s hard work and dedication. 

“The CFA certificate opens up new career opportunities and it will serve you well for the rest of your lives,” said the President of CFA Russia.

Along with giving out the certificates, CFA Russia also presented its 2019 Annual Ethics Award. Every year, the society nominates a person within the financial community, who showed the highest standards of professional ethics and acted with diligence and integrity in his or her profession.

This year’s Ethics Award went to Dr. Vladimir Mau, a Russian economist and the head of the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). 

Due to his busy end of the year schedule Vladimir could not make it to the event personally; however, one of his colleagues, Dr. Konstantin Korischenko, the head of the financial markets department at RANEPA, received the award on his behalf. Konstantin is a known figure among the CFA Russia community. He was a guest speaker at several events of the association, including the last year Forecast dinner.

Following the Ethics Award, all new members received their charters from Delme Thompson, CFA Institute EMEA’s Senior Director of Society Relations, who was invited to Moscow to attend the ceremony, and Maxim Lapin, CFO of MoEx.

When everyone received their charter, the event moved into a more casual stream with invited guests sharing their experiences and joy with each other with toasts of champagne around the table.
