On October 30, CFA Association Russia launched the 10^th consecutive local stage of the CFA Institute Research Challenge.

This season will be incredibly important, as the society will be trying to defend the status of the current EMEA Regional champions, following the victory of a team from Moscow State University in Zurich earlier this year.

For several years now, the local stage organized by CFA Russia is one of the largest competitions in the EMEA Region. Furthermore, CFA Russia’s competition is an international event, as universities from Azerbaijan and Belarus have been actively participating in our local stage since 2016.

The 2019 – 2020 Research Challenge will feature 34 teams from 26 universities from across Russia and the CIS.

Over the next 6-months, students will work together to research and analyze a publicly traded subject company. This year it will be ALROSA, the world’s leader in diamond mining. Each university team will come up with a financial report with a recommendation to buy, sell or hold the shares of the subject company.
